Superintendent's Weekly Memo - June 14, 2024

Superintendent's Weekly Memo - June 14, 2024
Dr. Marice Edouard-Vincent, Superintendent

Dear Mustang Families,

We’re right on the cusp of the last day of school! After a school year packed with successes, challenges, opportunities and growth for everyone in our school community, the last day of school is Tuesday, June 18

All schools are closed on Monday, June 17 in observance of Eid al-Adha. Eid al-Adha, also called the Feast of Sacrifice, is a major holiday celebrated annually by Muslims around the world. Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating!

We would like to extend a heartfelt Happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing Dads, Grandfathers and men of such who are a father figure in someone’s life. It is a very special role to have directly impacting a child’s life which we all carry with us for a lifetime. We hope you are gifted with some time on Sunday to spend with family honoring or remembering such a person in your life.

“Fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man.” – Frank Pittman

McGlynn Playground Update

Have you seen the amazing progress on the McGlynn School’s new, universally accessible playground? The Medford School Committee invites members of the Medford community to support the new McGlynn Elementary School playground, by donating to the playground fund to offset project costs and future maintenance.

Donor benefits will include recognition in a district-wide press release, memorialization on a plaque at the playground entrance, and an invitation to the playground ribbon-cutting. Visit the Fundraiser web page to donate, and thank you for your support!
