Community Update for Hiring of Assistant Superintendent of Special Education & Student Services

The search committee for the hiring of the district's new Assistant Superintendent of Special Education & Student services has been finalized. Thank you to all those who submitted interest in serving on this Search Committee.

The Search Committee is comprised of dedicated MPS caregivers, educators, administrators, and members of the Medford School Committee. The Committee will be co-facilitated by MPS Assistant Superintendent of Academics & Instruction Dr. Kim Talbot & current MPS Director of Student Services Joan Bowen, who will be retiring from her position in September.

As a reminder, the role of this committee is to collaboratively interview and reflect on the qualified pool of candidates that the committee feels would be the best fit for this position. This recommendation would then be given to the Superintendent ahead of the final round of interviews.

The committee can be found below. Please note, all information and discussions by the Search Committee are confidential and cannot be shared during or after the the process is complete.
