Andrews and McGlynn School September Construction Update

Please see the letter below from Consigli Construction about the ongoing HVAC and roof work being done at the Andrews and McGlynn Schools.

Residents & Parents,

Consigli Construction would like to provide a project update for both the Andrews & McGlynn School upgrade projects:

McGlynn School – Kindergarten Roof: The masonry and waterproofing scopes of work were completed. At the end of this month / beginning of October, the roofing subcontractor will be on this roof completing their final protective layer of fluid applied roofing, on top of the new membrane roofing system.

Upcoming Work to Expect: The project team has been diligently coordinating the new rooftop work prior to our mobilization of the rooftop work during the month of September. It can be expected that in October, work on the roof will begin. This will consist of structural steel supports, the landing of new rooftop equipment, and beginning mechanical and electrical scopes of work.

For work that will require a crane to be mobilized to pick the equipment to the roof tops, this we be scheduled off hours during non-school hours. This will likely take place on a Saturday. Additionally, the team will need to complete some modifications to the existing mechanical systems to enable us to begin the installation of new scopes of work. Any modifications to existing systems that require that system to be shut down will also take place during non-school hours.

One important aspect of this project that the team will continue to emphasis and be transparent about is that a lot of the work throughout the fall and into the wintertime will consist of work being completed on the roofs and in the interior mechanical rooms of the building during school. Consigli Construction will make the best effort to limit the impact via noise, however, please understand that we are sharing this building and by nature, construction is a noisy activity. We
plan to install sound attenuating / sound reducing blankets at interior spaces to try and mitigate our noise levels.
