McGlynn Middle School Grade 6 Orientation - August 21, 2025

Dear McGlynn Middle School Community:

On Thursday, August 21st, the McGlynn Middle School will host the Grade 6 Orientation Program for all students entering 6th grade this upcoming school year. New transfer students are also welcome and encouraged to participate in this program.

The event will take place from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the McGlynn Middle School. Please plan to have your child arrive at the McGlynn Middle School no later than 8:45 AM for registration.

During the orientation, your child will engage in the following activities:

• A class assembly with introductions from the Principal and Assistant Principal
• Scheduling Question & Answer session with the Principal
• Tour of the school with teachers and student ambassadors
• Getting familiarized with the rules and expectations of the school, homeroom and locker
• Social/Emotional learning activities in Homeroom with teachers and student ambassadors
• Slush Social for students with their classmates

During the event, school administrators, a number of teachers, and student ambassadors will be present to support the incoming 6th graders’ transition to middle school.

Parents and guardians may drop off and pick up their children in front of the school. Parking is located in the lots located in front or behind the McGlynn School.
