McGlynn Middle School News
On Saturday April 6, the Medford High School Orchestra won a Gold Medal and the Middle School String Ensemble won a Silver Medal at the prestigious MICCA (Massachusetts Instrumental and Chorus Conductor’s Association) Concert Festival. And the Middle School String Ensemble won a Silver Medal.
The following are a few reminders as it relates to the school schedule for the next week and a half.
Please read the letter below from Faiza Khan, the Director of Mathematics in the Medford Public Schools, for all families of middle school students. This letter provides information about the decision to push acceleration by a year in the mathematics courses at the middle school level starting in school year 2024/25.

We are excited to announce that the McGlynn, Andrews Middle, and West Somerville Neighborhood Schools will be partnering with Tufts University Hillel to offer after school extracurricular opportunities for students on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons starting on February 6th and 8th

The McGlynn Middle School will host its Open House/ Welcome Orientation on Thursday, May 2nd from 6:00-8:00 PM. We welcome all incoming 6th grade students and their parents/caregivers to attend this special presentation.
The Medford Health Department, Tufts University and Medford Public Schools are seeking your input for the Medford Health and Safety guide!

Over the course of the 2023/24 school year, middle school students engaged in preliminary rounds of the Medford Middle School Geography Bee. Social Studies teachers at the McGlynn and Andrews Middle Schools identified three students from each school to participate in the city-wide Geography Bee final. The city wide Geography Bee took place on Tuesday, April 2nd at the McGlynn Middle School.
