The McGlynn Middle School is named after the former Mayor John J. McGlynn and shares a campus with the McGlynn Elementary School. It is located on the eastern bank of the Mystic River.

The McGlynn Middle School provides all students with an education in a safe and respectful learning environment that meets the needs of the whole child, empowering them to reach their potential as learners. In a collaborative and rigorous learning environment, students are challenged to be critical thinkers. The McGlynn Middle School celebrates diversity in an inclusive and equitable learning environment, designed to foster student growth and achievement.  The school strives to develop engaged, contributing citizens in society by emphasizing the importance of personal integrity and a drive to become life-long learners.
