In an effort to create the best learning environment and to improve student outcomes, the district will once again implement an assessment tool that will provide you and your child’s teachers with information so that we can establish precise instructional levels and identify areas to focus on for academic growth. Students in grade 6-8 will take the assessment, Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) developed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA).

McGlynn Middle School will be hosting a picture day working with our partner, Jostens. Picture day will take place for students on Friday, September 18th, in the auditorium.

The 5th annual Run Medford event will be on 9/25 and 9/26/2026! There are events for ALL AGES including Kids' Fun Runs, the High School Mile, a 5K, and a 10K. A portion of each registration fee will be donated to Medford Public School PTOs, so the more people that register, the more funds the schools will get!

Middle School Fall Sports tryouts are approaching! The registration portal for fall middle school sports (baseball, softball & cross country) is open. All students must register and have an updated physical sent to the school nurse prior to tryouts. Updated physicals for McGlynn Middle School students can be sent to Nurse Kristina Halloran at khalloran@medford.k12.ma.us. The physical must be within 13 months of the first day of tryouts.
